Granek is a successful entrepreneur and an award winning event producer with eighteen years of experience in the special events, convention, tourism and entertainment industries. Aside from his technical acumen, Granek has built an outstanding reputation for his professionalism, attention to detail and dedication to customer service. Granek's extensive background includes event coordination, entertainment management, volunteer management, trade show management, event marketing and technical direction as well as the creation and production of large professional corporate events for both local and international clients. Most recently, Granek has achieved his CSEP (Certified Special Events Professional) designation, joining an elite group of approximately ten people in Canada who currently hold this unique distinction - which is the hallmark of professional achievement in the special events industry.

Granek's technical and organizational skills combined with his imagination, vision, and energy, makes him a valuable member of any team. Actively involved in industry associations, Granek strives for the growth and advancement of the special events industry. He constantly promotes a high level of professionalism and ethics and has served on the board of the International Special Events Society Vancouver Chapter for the past seven years, three of those as President.

With a Diploma in Adult Education as well as a passion for industry growth and bringing opportunities to students, Granek is currently the Academic Director for the Event Management Diploma Program at the Art Institute of Vancouver where he not only manages the department, but also designs and develops curriculum while teaching numerous courses. Granek often speaks at the University of British Columbia, Langara College, and the British Columbia Institute of Technology on industry topics as well as career opportunities, interview skills and the values of networking.

In addition to sharing his experience with students, the Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council has invited Granek to provide his expertise by joining a prestigious panel of experts on an international advisory panel that has lead the way in developing international standards & certification for event management. He has also taught numerous seminars at industry trade shows and conferences including the Canadian Special Events & Meetings Expo, Event Sensations Conference, and “The Special Event” - the industry's largest conference in North America. Granek has published articles in various industry magazines and has been interviewed by Business In Vancouver, CBC Radio and CBC television on his event and production expertise.

Entrepreneurial success aside, Granek also champions for superior customer service, ethical business practices, corporate responsibility and community involvement.
